Tier 1 - There are 4 categories of Tier 1 visa:

1. General Highly Skilled Migrant category is for highly skilled individuals who wish to enter the UK to look for work or self- employment opportunities.
2. Entrepreneur category is for individuals who have at least £200,000 to start a business in the UK
   
3. Investor category is for individuals who have at least £1 million to invest in the UK.
   
4. Post Study Work category allows international graduates from UK institutions to remain in the UK for two years after graduation

Tier 2 – Skilled Migrants - There are 4 categories of Tier 2 work permits:

1. Skilled Worker category is for people with a specific skilled job offer in the UK who are needed to fill a temporary gap in the labour force.
   
2. Intra-Company Transfer category is for people who are being transferred to a UK branch of their organisation.
   
3. Sports People category is for elite professional athletes and coaches.
   
4. Minister of Religion category is for workers within a bona fide religion.

Tier 3 - Temporary Unskilled category for employment that is largely seasonal in nature.

Tier 4 - Student category for individuals who have secured a place to study on a full-time basis (at least 15 hours per week) at some form of educational institution.

Tier 5 - Temporary Workers for individuals who wish to enter the UK to work temporarily without having a specific job offer. This category includes Working holiday maker; Charity Worker Categorym; Creative and Sporting Worker Category; Religious Worker Category; Government Exchange Category; International Agreement Category

For those who are in relationships with UK citizens, permanent residents or EU Citizens including:

Certificate of Approval is for individuals who are subject to immigration control and who wish to marry.

Fiance Visa is for individuals who are planning to marry a British citizen or permanent resident in the UK .

Marriage Visa is for individuals who are married to or in a civil partnership with a  UK citizen or permanent resident.  

 
EEA Family Permit (Married and unmarried) is for individuals who are married to, or in a civil partnership or in a genuine relationship with, an EU citizen

 

Unmarried Partner Visa is for individuals who have been in a genuine relationship with a  UK citizen or permanent resident

Elderly Dependent Visa allows individuals who are present and settled in the UK to have their elderly dependent relative join them in the UK .

Indefinite Leave to Remain for Non-EEA citizens wishing to reside in the UK without any immigration related restrictions on the work and no time limits on his/her stay in the UK.
